You can convert minecraft maps to source engine maps.
The tool is called Sourcecraft.

Obviously everything in minecraft is blocks, so they number of brushes in the resulting vmf is insane.
I guess you can convert some of these things into props to get around that. I was thinking of using it as a guide to make something in source which exists in a minecraft map already.
