Personally I think it's important to have varieties of weapons in the game so we can have some sort of diversity in the gameplay. This way the ZE gameplay won't look as dull as it currently is nowadays with the rampage of P90, TMP, M249 (idk if people use different guns at all, this is speaking from past experience before i went on hiatus for exam). And with that I came up with a way to encourage players to do this which will need assistant from plugin making expert (also have no idea how does 3rd party plugin is made in Source Engine to make this effective).
I'd love to hear everyone's thought on this because I've kept this idea within my head for too long and only now I thought about writing a whole massive ass essay for it. Viva La Unloze.
For every single variant of a weapon, that weapon will lost it's DMG %. To better visualize this, you can imagine 10 CT's are currently using P90. P90 now will have it's DMG reduced to 60% for all players. Of course further penalizing the DMG might cause some players to lost interest of this system so maybe make the nerf count after another nerf (100% > 90% > 85% > 82.5% and it goes on). With this we can encourage players to be more dynamic with their choice of weapons and make the gameplay much more interesting. Of course only nerfing the weapons DMG is unacceptable for most players and even I hates that. This brings me to my next main point.
The less people that uses the gun, the more DMG it deals. For example, only one players uses XM1014 and now the gun deals 300% more DMG. If the former point can't make it, i'd like this one to be the outcome because of how it encourage players to use guns that aren't normally used. Imagine you alone using AWP while being chased by a bhopping monkey and the DMG scales up to 1000% and even higher when you hit an impossible headshot (ofc this value looks absurd, don't take it seriously) or maybe the knockback is buffed insanely high for the very reason that you're the only user of the weapon, which makes you stands out as you're supposed to be thanks to the buffs.
