AAA tested five Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) in Los Angeles traffic, covering 342 miles over 16 hours. The study compared hands-on and hands-off systems, finding that even advanced ADAS only provided drivers with an average of under 10 minutes of hands-free time in traffic jams. Notable events requiring driver intervention occurred every 3.2 miles, highlighting the limitations of current Level 2 ADAS technology.
